  • THE BEAST is a hard-hitting television crime-drama from the A&E network. Patrick Swayze stars as veteran FBI agent Charles Barker, whose effective but controversial methods of apprehending criminals have earned him the suspicion of his own department. As Barker continues to parlay his undercover skills in regular assignments with his new partner, rookie Ellis Dove (Travis Fimmel), he also becomes the target of a covert internal investigation led by fellow agent Ray Beaumont (Larry Gilliard Jr.). Although THE BEAST garnered a devoted following with its gritty tone and style, it only lasted one season due to Swayzes deteriorating health after his cancer diagnosis.
