The film won a 1995 Special Achievement Academy Award for being the first completely computer animated film. Director John Lasseter won the 1988 Oscar for Best Animated Short Film for the computer-generated "Tin Toy". Produced by Pixar. Color by Technicolor. Released theatrically in the USA November 22, 1995. The film grossed $184.8 million domestically, making it the highest grossing movie of 1995.
