  • Told in a flashback, this film is based on the life story of an extremely intelligent young black man with a ruthlessly sardonic sense of humor. William Douglas Street is tired. He's grown weary of living with his parents, working in his father's business, dull evenings spent with drunken co-workers and of being the object of societal suspicion. So he retreats into the recesses of his mind where a wild imagination makes anything and everything possible. But when this native son starts to externalize his insanely subversive fantasies, real trouble begins.
