Bonnie Raitt's music is given the bluegrass treatment on this compilation from CHM Records. Songs she made famous, including "I Can't Make You Love Me," "Something to Talk About," "Women Be Wise," "Angel From Montgomery," and eight others, translate well to arrangements featuring dobro, fiddle and banjo. Similar past attempts by CHM to recreate rock arrangements into a strict bluegrass format (Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin) have been less successful, but this album adds something to the original compositions, instead of taking away from them. ~ Al Campbell
