Tackling the career of the ultimate country icon, this volume digs into Hank Williams' work and turns up both fun, freewheeling tunes like "Roly Poly" and intense, hard-hitting tracks like "You're Gonna Change (Or I'm Gonna Leave)." It also displays Williams' broad stylistic range, venturing into tunes with touches of Western swing and proto-rockabilly in addition to the expected honky-tonk songs. A few posthumously overdubbed (by members of Williams' original band) rockabilly tracks add an interesting historical perspective to the proceedings as well.
