Having made part of their initial name together via full collaborations, for their two-disc mix album Martin Eyerer and Oliver Klein fully split duties, each taking over a full disc to spin and mix as he pleases. Both are very good at what they do and draw on some choice selections (not skimping their own efforts -- Eyerer includes not only a number he did with Klein, but another with Toni Rios, "Chorizo"), but it's also interesting to hear the subtle but telling differences in the end results. Klein's mix is almost a classic club mix as such -- a perfect balance of builds and beat-matching that is designed for dancing first and foremost. Moments like the dropping in of the basslines on his remix of Pascal F.E.O.S.' "Bring the Beat Back" are fine examples of an artist at work. In contrast, Eyerer's own equally sharp mix seems to want to play around with expectations more than once, dropping out beats entirely at a few points, stretching out final notes, and otherwise turning a straightforward trip into one with surprising detours. It's a good reminder of the sheer possibilities inherent in DJing made manifest and helps raise Movement to a higher level than many other mix disc efforts of 2007. ~ Ned Raggett
