As directed by Olivier Bourbeillon, this documentary profiles Claude Chabrol (1930-2010), one of the most vital contributors not simply to the Nouvelle Vague, but to European Cinema in general. Alternately known as "The French Hitchcock" and "The Balzac of Cinema," Chabrol not only taught audiences bold and unique ways of seeing life through film, but remained prolific, turning out roughly a film a year for 52 years. In this intimate and revealing portrait, Chabrol sits down for a series of meals with friends, colleagues and ex-wives, and discusses his life in rich detail - his triumphs, his missteps, the insights that he gained into the craft and business of film, and much more. Contributors include Stphane Audran, Sandrine Bonnaire and Suzanne Flon.
