  • Edgar G. Ulmer was renowned in 1930's and 1940's Hollywood for making great B-movies whose artistic quality transcended the restrictions of their paltry budgets. This collector's set includes 2 of Ulmer's best films. In THE STRANGE WOMAN, Hedy Lamarr plays plays Jenny, a lusty, sociopathic lass in the wilds of 18th Century Bangor, Maine, who uses her beauty to snare a local, rich, middle-aged businessman (Gene Lockhart). In BLUEBEARD, a horror film set in 19th century Paris, someone is murdering young women and dumping their bodies into the Seine. That someone is Gaston (John Carradine), a handsome, brooding painter and puppeteer who strangles his models with a black tie.
