Natar Ungalaaq (ATANARJUAT: THE FAST RUNNER) stars in this drama, which was Canada's entry for the 2008 Foreign Language Feature Oscar. In the 1950s, tuberculosis was sweeping northern Canada, causing many Inuit to travel to cities to receive medical treatment. Tivii (Ungalaaq) has the illness, and he is relegated to an institution where no one speaks his language, leaving him isolated. A kind nurse (Eveline Gelinas) recognizes his plight and transfers a young boy (Paul Andre Brasseur) who speaks both Tivii's language and French.
