  • Few may realize that although Clark Gable was a Hollywood icon for years, he also served in World War II, more specifically as a captain in the 351st Bombardment Group. This box set offers two war-themed documentaries in which Gable participates - COMBAT AMERICA (1943), the tale of the 351st Bombardment Group of the U.S. Army Air Force, as they segue from formalized training to combat missions over German skies (which Gable narrates and appears in), and WINGS UP (1943), a look at the demanding training undergone by cadets at the Officers Candidate School of the U.S. Army Air Force. The latter features narration by Gable, William Holden, Gilbert Roland and Robert Preston.
