French pop rocker Veronique Sanson is one of the more prolific musicians in Europe through the 70's. Her Elton John-meets-Patti Smith style fits well into Au Palais des Sports, her 1981 live album that summed up her material from the previous decade. Although her sound has aged through time, her songwriting skills were always good enough to overcome such difficulties. Like on most of her material, her voice is the weakest part of the recording, but luckily she mostly understood that at the time and didn't try to reach outside of her range. Fans of Sanson should get this, but more importantly, those who have never heard Sanson should really give this a shot, it's a solid album from an important musician. ~ Bradley Torreano
