Hawaiian music is bewilderingly familiar - listening to this CD gave me a strong feeling of deja vu, which confused me considerably until I realized it has a strong Mexican/Latin influence and that, of course, Hawaiian steel guitar has changed music all over the world - most notably country music, where it became the ubiquitous pedal steel that weeps out of every juke box on the continent. With lovely harmonies and a great old-time string sound from ukelele, harp guitar, guitar and steel guitar, it is easy to see how the world fell under its spell. ~ Carl Hoyt
