Boukman Eksperiens was an overrated group so it's difficult to expect much from Boukan Ginen, the band founded by ex-BE guys (including former BE lead singer Eddy Franois). But BG's mix of rock and funk and compas and rara-derived rhythms is much hipper and less self-conscious than BE's. ~ John Storm Roberts, Original Music

Down Beat (6/95, p.58) - 4.5 Stars - Very Good Plus - "Formed by defecting members of Boukman Eksperans...Haitian roots-rock...soulfully rasping tenor...Van Halen-esque guitar. They radiate their own brilliant light, energized by a voodoo rhythm section....Folk and pop fuse seamlessly.... bursting with cultural pride and percussive power even as they bewail their country's bitter plight..."
