Boukman Eksperiens was an overrated group so it's difficult to expect much from Boukan Ginen, the band founded by ex-BE guys (including former BE lead singer Eddy Franois). But BG's mix of rock and funk and compas and rara-derived rhythms is much hipper and less self-conscious than BE's. ~ John Storm Roberts, Original Music
