Maggie Sansone and company regale us with an all-instrumental live concert album, Music in the Great Hall, recorded at the historic St. John's College in Annapolis, Maryland. The Great Hall built in 1742 with plans brought from Scotland captures the warmth and richness of the musical instruments and offers the perfect recording site. Almost one hour of stunning Celtic music includes lush baroque-style interpretations of 18th century Irish airs, infectious jigs and reels, stirring Scottish melodies, haunting Welsh tunes and Spanish dances. Maggie's guitar and hammered dulcimer are joined by recorder, concertina and viol da gamba... ~ MusD
