Recorded at Leipzig's Gewandhaus Concert Hall in 1991, this live performance of Beethoven's choral masterpiece (which was featured heavily in the Kubrick film A CLOCKWORK ORANGE) features Gwynne Howell, James Wagner, Doris Soffel and Venceslava Hauba-Frieberger singing with the Gewandhaus Orchestra and Chorus. Kurt Masur conducts this phenomenal rendition of the great composer's final major work.
