  • Two of the twentieth century's most loved performers come together in this rare, remastered edition of a live broadcast on December 10, 1959. The "first Lady of Song," Ella Fitzgerald, who by the end of her illustrious career had amassed 13 Grammys and sold over 40 million records, was the special guest of Ol' Blue Eyes; it is one of the few time the two performed together. The show appears here in its entirety, including even the commercials, and Sinatra's current flame, Juliet Prowse, who starred in CAN CAN with him, makes appears as a guest as well. The weekly show, normally filmed at Hollywood's El Capitan Theater, had traveled to Palm Springs for this taping, and the perpetually sunny location was experiencing some unusually foul weather; this initiated some improvised sets and light teasing of Sinatra from the cast.
