Known for his flawless rhythm and impressive versatility, the late Jeff Porcaro first gained recognition as a drummer for the popular rock act, Toto. Learning to play the instrument at an early age from his percussionist father, Jeff went on to become one of the most sought-after studio drummers of his generation. Jeff's unique drumming style significantly contributed to the sound and feel of mainstream rock throughout the 1980s. In this instructional release, Jeff addresses the elements that make up his personal approach, covering such topics as: triple and shuffle feels, Latin grooves, bass-drum pedal methods, straight time, half-time shuffles, as well as several ways to use the hi hat. Jeff's unique drumming style really comes to life against the backdrop of a live band, containing Jeff's brother Michael playing bass, and David Garfield on keyboard.
