This package includes two separate productions mounted by The Bolshoi Theatre. The first, 1979's The Stone Guest, presents the 1872 Alexander Dargomyzhsky opera (based on Pushkin's play), with Vladimir Atlantov as Don Juan, Tamara Milashkina as Donna Anna, Alexander Vedernikov as Leporello, and Tamara Sinyavskaya as Laura; The Orchestra and Chorus of the Bolshoi Theatre provide musical accompaniment with Mark Ermler conducting. The second production in the set, a 1981 staging of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Mozart and Salieri, stars Alexi maslennikov and Artur Eizen as the respective title characters, and also features musical accompaniment by The Orchestra and Chorus of the Bolshoi Theatre; Ruben Vartanian conducts.
