Chilled R&B Summer Classics, a triple-disc compilation released in 2010, concentrates on recent hits but dips as far back as the early `70s. The Isley Brothers' version of "Summer Breeze" and a couple lyrical references aside, there is no discernible summer theme. The selections are rather random, in fact. The set covers the 2000s with the likes of Chris Brown's "Crawl," Alicia Keys' "Broken Down," Ciara's "Promise," and Solange's "Feelin' You," while significantly older cuts come from the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Billy Ocean, En Vogue, Bill Withers, Az Yet, the Cover Girls, and Heatwave. ~ Andy Kellman
