A step away from the lo-fi bedroom rock of their previous album, Tower Recordings' 2001 release is both a fun pastiche and a sincere nod to the "pagan folk" of '60s inspirations like Pentangle. This varied and hypnotic set also put the shape-shifting group at the forefront of what would become the "freak-folk" movement of the early '00s.
