Soft Rock: AM Radio Hits gathers 38 harmless songs that draw heavily from soft rock's late-'70s/early-'80s heydays. Though the collection suffers from extreme Leo Sayer deprivation and a gaping hole resides where Kenny Loggins' "Longer" should be, it's hard to argue with the inclusion of AM classics like Air Supply's "All Out of Love," Starship's "Sara," or Juice Newton's "Angel of the Morning." That said, whoever thought that "All the Young Dudes" (Mott the Hoople) belongs under the terminal umbrella of soft rock needs a new job, and whoever decided to include an orchestral version of Jethro Tull's "Agualung" needs a group home and a helmet. ~ James Christopher Monger
