  • The independent comedy SEX, POLITICS & COCKTAILS explores issues of sexuality among urban singles, prompted, of course, by a hefty helping of drinks! Struggling filmmaker Sebastien (the film's own writer and director, Julien Hernandez) moves to Los Angeles, a decision motivated by his realization that he doesn't love his Prozac-addled girlfriend. There, he meets Daria, who introduces him to a number of her gay friends. Over a series of meetings and drinks, Sebastien, Daria, and her friends all relate to each other their first and funniest sexual experiences, and Sebastien begins to have a dawning realization about himself. With multiple short stories and a bevy of flashy filmmaking techniques, SEX, POLITICS, & COCKTAILS is an inventive, funny, and relevant comedy.
