Review: This movie has all the classic characters and major themes found in great westerns, without resorting to any Indian fights. You have the humble but confidant outsider, a love triangle, a strong female character, a love interest that develops slowly, a dispute between waring factions, a despicable bad guy, epic fight scenes, a one-on-one "final solution" to a long-standing war (leader vs leader), and raising in the viewers mind ethical questions surrounding loyalty, property, power, and prejudice. The viewer is moved to reconsider who is good and who is bad. Burl Ives (the kindly narrator voice in the "Frosty the Snowman" Christmas cartoon) is a most memorable "bad guy" who viewers will have sympathy for in the end. Chuck Connors (The Rifleman) is a despicable bad guy with an iconic mustache. This is one for your collection. Great musical score too.
