  • Long regarded as one of the seminal American feature films, Michael Curtiz's romantic adventure CASABLANCA (1941) spun off a little-known television series that continued the adventures of Rick, expatriate American owner of the Club Americain nightclub in the titular Moroccan city. This unusual program actually ran twice on American networks, with around 25 years separating the two runs; it began on ABC in 1955, as one of three rotating dramas that shared the heading WARNER BROTHERS PRESENTS, then returned in a new version on NBC in August 1983, with a cast that included David Soul as Rick Blaine, Hector Elizondo as Captain Renault and Scatman Crothers as the iconic Sam. The entire 1983 run appears in this box set as it originally aired.
