Woody Allen trades New York City for San Francisco with his comedy-drama BLUE JASMINE, starring Cate Blanchett as a troubled former Manhattanite who moves to the City by the Bay to live with her sister after her wealthy husband divorces her. Forced to put her life back together piece by piece while under the effect of powerful anti-depressants, she dates a series of men, attempts to build a career, and slowly learns how to count on herself to survive. Alec Baldwin, Louis C.K., and Bobby Cannavale co-star.

"[Blanchett's] performance is tinged with haughtiness, dry humor and madness. It's one of the year's finest, most complex portrayals, in one of Allen's best films in years."
The mystery of the movie as a whole is that it depicts a bleak world of pervasive rapacity, deceit and self-delusion, yet keeps us rapt with delight....A brilliantly effective star vehicle."
Wall Street Journal
"[Blanchett] dives into the showcase role of a humbled society wife and knocks it out of the park. Woody Allen, six decades into his career, is still capable of writing and directing one of the liveliest, funniest and sharpest movies of the year."
3 stars out of 4 -- "Cate Blanchett delivers a bravura star turn as the emotionally frayed title character in BLUE JASMINE."
3 stars out of 4 -- "Blanchett fabulously goes above and beyond her duties as the wilting faux flower of the title....The actress is a tour-de-force tinted-blonde tornado that elevates her every encounter with a member of the movie's estimable ensemble."
"[T]he dramatic unruliness makes BLUE JASMINE nervy and vital in a way fans might have suspected Allen no longer had in him."
"[This is Allen's] most sustained, satisfying and resonant film since MATCH POINT."
New York Times
"Want to see great acting, from comic to tragic and every electrifying stop in between? See Cate Blanchett in BLUE JASMINE."
"Cate Blanchett plays a neurotic Woody Allen heroine for the ages in this serious-minded but ruefully funny work."
"[P]owerful and enthralling....The greatness of Blanchett's acting is that she shows you how madness doesn't just destroy Jasmine but, in some terrible way, fulfills her destiny." -- Grade: A
"[T]his often humorous drama lands firmly in the plus column among the Woodman's recent works, with Blanchett's tour de force making this a must-see..."
4 stars out of 5 -- "[I]ts Allens most dramatic outing since 1992s HUSBANDS AND WIVES, with the humour pulsing softly and steadily beneath the more urgent throb of loneliness, co-dependency and financial crisis."
5 stars out of 5 -- "Allen's best film in years, astute, humane and shot through with keen observations..."
"[I]t makes extremely good use of two stand-up comics: Louis CK, as a sound engineer who seduces Ginger, and Andrew Dice Clay, as Gingers ex-husband."
