  • Richard Wise's (THE SOUND OF MUSIC) early film noir stars Valentina Cortese as Victoria Kowelska, a Polish woman who adopts the identity of a deceased friend so she can come to America after her release from a concentration camp. There, she discovers that she is the godmother of a very wealthy young boy, and stands to inherit a large sum.
