  • Even in a small town, everyone has their secrets. This provocative Italian-language film explores the lives a group of neighbors keep hidden underneath their more palatable public faces. A local butcher fantasizes about the local teenage girls and retreats back into the freezer to fondle the meat. A young girl who has sex with her own father becomes pregnant. A Christ-like stranger is a fantasy object for many of the women. And an artist who makes collages out of model photos and pictures of organs from medical journals looks on as his mute wife, who drinks water from the commode, defecates on the dying, bleeding man with whom she's having sex.
