New American Shame hails from Seattle, Washington, and it's quite a rare breed in the current alternative/electronica-driven rock market. From the first note of "Under It All", the band's self-titled album conjures memories of AC/DC, early Van Halen, and Queen at its' most hard-rockin'. Though not groundbreaking, NEW AMERICAN SHAME is what kick-ass rock & roll is all about.
NEW AMERICAN SHAME has energy to burn and a texture that could be postmarked circa early-1983 but somehow doesn't sound the least bit dated. As produced by Brett Eliason and guitarist Jimmy Paulson, the tracks scream with bottom-end and searing guitars that fit perfectly with the vocals. Tracks to check out include "Broken Bones", "Skin Up," and "American Shame".

  • Critic Reviews
CMJ (3/15/99, pp.24-25) - "...Reidt and his boys have somehow breathed new life into arena rock. THese easy riders are armed with the type of foot-stomping anthems that many of today's so-called 'rock' bands sorely lack."
