On A Ballad for Many, the group performs some of the works of jazz clarinetist Don Byron. Their set consists of six sketches from \"Eugene\" (a live accompaniment to a silent episode of Ernie Kovacs' Show), nine brief selections from his soundtrack to a documentary on the Tuskegee Airmen, and five other pieces. Byron makes appearances on three of the numbers, but otherwise the focus is on Bang on a Can's interpretations of his originals. The music is episodic, a bit incomplete without the picture (since most of the music is actually soundtracks) and colorful if not quite essential. ~ Scott Yanow","brand":"MovieMars","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47797571879199,"sku":"713746303624","price":18.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0679\/7833\/0399\/files\/29a59d771b216d4a187e27993f4bdc6b.jpg?v=1777922242","url":"https:\/\/www.moviemars.com\/products\/ballad-for-many","provider":"MovieMars","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
