Its repertoire is wide-ranging and, as with Brass Fantasy, pop and R\u0026amp;B tunes are not overlooked. In addition, the Ebony Brass Quintet's ability to swing without a rhythm section makes it at times seem like a brass equivalent of the WSQ. Baritonist Hamiet Bluiett makes a guest appearance on the freely improvised \"Ballad From a Dying Planet,\" while Bluiett and drummer Eli Fountain help out on \"Be-B-Q,\" but otherwise this date is all brass. The music ranges from James Brown to Wayne Shorter, a fairly conventional jam on \"Take the 'A' Train\" to gospel pieces. Overall, this is certainly an interesting outing. ~ Scott Yanow","brand":"MovieMars","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":51475376308511,"sku":"735561030325","price":44.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0679\/7833\/0399\/files\/67be921ebd5674552d4f04023628613b_10182e95-30be-42e4-8ce0-d7e9e66b7bc5.jpg?v=1777971249","url":"https:\/\/www.moviemars.com\/products\/brand-new-bag","provider":"MovieMars","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
