Working with longtime cohort Augie Meyers on organ, and drummer Doug Clifford (who played with Sahm for a time after Creedence Clearwater Revival disbanded), Doug Sahm is also joined by his son Shawn on guitar (the father-son team penned some of the songs together). The familiar flashes of rollicking Tex-Mex mingle with selections that embrace louder, guitar-driven rock music. The production is crisp and radio-ready and throughout it all, Sahm sings like he's right where he belongs.
