{"product_id":"hallway-of-the-gods","title":"Hallway of the Gods","description":"Few bands share the Legendary Pink Dots' talent for being so musically amorphous while remaining true to their own stylistic philosophy. The multinational Dots retain their patented weirdness--a mishmash of occultism, psychedelia, folk, devout Krautrock worship, faultless songcraft, and peculiar lyrical preoccupations--while retrofitting their darkly romantic synthpop designs with triphop beats.\u003cbr\u003eIn many ways, 1997's HALLWAY OF THE GODS evidences similarities between the Dots and the Tear Garden (a joint LPD\/Skinny Puppy offshoot). Like the latter's TO BE AN ANGEL BLIND, THE CRIPPLED SOUL DIVIDE, HALLWAY gems like \"On High\" and \"Sterre\" frame a silvery, soothing voice over slithering brass and wistful woodwinds, with dub-charged basslines and scintillating acoustic guitars. There are synths in numbed down-tempo settings as well. \"Harvest Babies\" and \"Destined to Repeat\" mesh florid acid jazz with slow-burn psychedelic implosions. The exquisite \"Lucifer Landed\" suggests a meeting between Donovan, the Beatles, and Aaron Copland. Other tracks dip into Gary Numan-inspired automaton-erotica (\"Mekkanikk\") or peddle 4-D sensory overload (\"Hallway,\" \"The Saucers Are Coming\"). HALLWAY is strong, intoxicating stuff, a feast for fans and a mind-opening experience for the uninitiated.","brand":"MovieMars","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50501891522847,"sku":"753907775020","price":19.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0679\/7833\/0399\/files\/9b199e3cc3458a0e2de41274720d1b9d_bc26a545-7f2a-4186-90a1-0005360f97bf.jpg?v=1777874882","url":"https:\/\/www.moviemars.com\/products\/hallway-of-the-gods","provider":"MovieMars","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
