In the early 1980s, a young gay man faces two years of military service as dictated by the South African government. He finds his fears coming to greet him as he encounters the homophobic sentiments of his comrades and superiors as he plunges further into a challenging, often cruel, world of rigorous training, bigotry, and overamplified masculinity.
