Quiet American

Michael Caine was nominated for an Oscar for his performance in this outstanding adaptation of Graham Greene's novel. Caine plays a cynical British journalist in 1952 Vietnam who befriends an American aid worker, unaware that he's really a CIA agent. Brendan Fraser is also excellent as the seemingly naive Yank who falls in love with Caine's young Vietnamese mistress.
