{"product_id":"whilst-the-wind-live-video","title":"Whilst the Wind: Live [Video]","description":"For those who enjoyed Ian Parker as part of the Blues Caravan trio on the DVD The New Generation, taped in Germany in December of 2005, this concert, beautifully filmed by director\/producer Peter Sommers, is a healthy one hour and eleven minutes recorded on 3\/26\/04 at the Rockpalast Crossroads Festival in Bonn, Germany...almost two years before Blues Caravan: The New Generation. The dynamic performance of this young and very bright blues star is enhanced by the use of superb audio, stunning color and lighting that Rockpalast is known for, and multiple cameras that capture all the action from a variety of angles. Parker plays like a student of latter-day Alvin Lee, no - not the flashy speed guitar of Woodstock, latter-day Lee who infuses pop with his thoughtful guitarmanship. What the \"21st century bluesman\" lacks in journeyman status he makes up for with his in-control presentation. At 27 or 28 years of age at the time of the Rockpalast recording he shows an understanding beyond his years. The sound of the band is very much like Frampton Comes Alive which was released in 1976, the year Ian Parker was born. That aura on Frampton's \"Do You Feel Like We Do\" permeates the efforts of this industrious quartet, though they might not accept that comparison. They should, it is meant as a glowing compliment. The eleven titles are all captivating, especially \"She Cries\" with its cool riff and melody. The DVD is overflowing with bonus material including an 18 minute \"impromptu jam\" recorded Sunday, January 9, 2005; a ten and a half minute Rockpalast interview conducted by Rembert Stiewe, twenty-two minutes of craziness culled from five hours of footage entitled \"A Tale of Two Vibes\" as well as a seventeen minute \"artist biography\" to go along with the wonderfully recorded main concert. The true nugget among all the bonuses is a concert tape recorded live at Robin 2, Wolverhampton, England dated December 22, 2004. It is a total treat. This \"official bootleg\" contains 28 minutes and 23 seconds of footage in grainy black and white with a definitely more \"underground\" feel and audio not as well recorded as Rockpalast, but still highly listenable and quite effective. The true revelation comes eight minutes into this set with a loving and beautiful rendition of Python Lee Jackson's \"In A Broken Dream\", a song which was a minor hit in America - a much bigger hit in the U.K. - and which had a very young Rod Stewart on lead vocals way back when. Parker's voice gives the song a different dimension, one not overshadowed by Stewart's presence, inside this segment of very 70s blues with Parker again displaying great control of the stage and his axe. This impressive DVD should do much to convince music fans unfamiliar with the Blues Caravan trio or Ian Parker solo that the cultivated guitarist is a real find with a keen sense of how to entertain.","brand":"MovieMars","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":45211477377311,"sku":"710347300779","price":18.95,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":false}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0679\/7833\/0399\/products\/1292d18bd2ba852639a7090aacb7c56d.jpg?v=1686117651","url":"https:\/\/www.moviemars.com\/products\/whilst-the-wind-live-video","provider":"MovieMars","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
