Predominantly a documentary that mixes nonfiction and fiction elements, the narration discusses Mexico's history amidst a legacy of colonialism at the hands of Spanish colonizers headed by Hernán Cortés, whose army changed the shape and face of this nation that once seated the Aztec Empire. A fictional character in the form of a former Cortés soldier is transported to modern-day Mexico, where he walks and inspects the results of their conquest 499 years after.
