Affairs of Annabel/Annabel Takes a Tour

Before we all loved Lucy, Lucille Ball was a comedic starlet at Warner Brothers where she played a role close to her own experience: Annabel Allison, the spectacular top movie star at fictional Wonder Pictures, whose wacky manager Lanny Morgan (Jack Oakie) subjects her to one crazy publicity stunt after another. In THE AFFAIRS OF ANNABEL, Annabel goes undercover as a maid to research her next role, with predictably hair-raising results. And in ANNABEL TAKES A TOUR, Lanny sets Annabel up to be wooed by a viscount for publicity's sake - much to the surprise of the already married viscount (Ralph Forbes).
