Casey Donahew crested into the Billboard country Top Ten due entirely to his regional Texas sales. All Night Party, the 2016 album that follows 2013's StandOff -- the record that went to seven on Billboard -- doesn't betray that red dirt tradition, but it's undeniably shiny and bright, the kind of sound that could cross over into the country mainstream. Despite the sheen and Donahew's cheerful melodies, All Night Party adheres to the tight songwriting, wide-open vistas, folky confessionals, and lean, twangy rockers that are the hallmark of 21st century Texas country. Donahew proudly celebrates his roots but finds his own distinct spin on this sound, crafting music that's warm and friendly.
