Lyricist: Steve Austin .
Personnel: Steve Austin (guitar, keyboards, electronics); Jeff Lohrber (drums); Sean Conkling (electronics).
Audio Mixer: Steve Austin .
Recording information: Aerm, Orland, ME (2013-2014).
Since making their AmRep debut back in the '90s, Today Is the Day have constantly pushed the boundaries of metal and noise rock, fusing the two styles together to create a juggernaut of visceral discontent. And while the band spent the better part of a decade setting the tone for the future of heavy music, the following decade would be plagued by a lack of consistency, as bands influenced by Steve Austin would continue to innovate while his own band endured a relatively stale patch. With their tenth album, Today Is the Day continue the long process of shaking out the cobwebs of the 2000s with Animal Mother, an album of daring, yet somewhat shaky, post-metal that finds Austin and company once again taking some risks in the name of progress. ~ Gregory Heaney
