Bardejov

Set in the 1940s, the story follows the goings-on in the Slovakian town of Bardejov as their police forces become Nazi cohorts. Rabbi Rafuel Lowy plans with their Jewish council to protect Jewish boys forced to register to work. Rafuel manages to keep the boys working in their town's brewery. Next, Jewish girls are forced to work in a shoe factory somewhere in the East. But Rafuel later discovers that the girls are being shipped to Auschwitz instead. An attempt to save the girls ensues.
