Beulah Show, Vol. 1

Dated sitcom about a black maid employed by a seemingly helpless white family. The supporting cast included Butterfly McQueen of 'Gone with the Wind' fame and, later, Dooley Wilson, who portrayed the piano-playing Sam in 'Casablanca.' Ethel Waters originated the TV role, and was replaced in 1952 by Louise Beavers. Oscar winner Hattie McDaniel, who played the part on radio, filled in for Beavers for a number of episodes.
