The series BEST OF BRITISH JAZZ FROM THE BBC JAZZ CLUB compiles recordings originally aired on the BBC Jazz Camp, a weekly jazz radio program in England. VOLUME 1 of the series covers 1950s and `60s material from the program, and features music from Ken Coyler Jazzmen, Acker Bilk and his Paramount Jazz Band, and Bob Wallis's Storyville Jazz Men. The material is almost strictly Dixieland and classic New Orleans jazz (as are all six of the volumes in the series), played with passion and verve from these notable British ensembles.
