Best of Danny Kaye [Prism]

The multi-talented Kaye had a career that spanned the stage, screen, and television. He also made a surprising number of records along the way as well and this collection brings together 23 of them in a nice overview of his career. While the majority of them are novelties like "The Babbitt and the Bromide," specialty numbers like "Tchaikovsky (And Other Russians)," or children's fare like "Tubby the Tuba," occasionally Kaye would do a number reasonably straight like "Dinah," "Jenny," or "Molly Malone." A collection that's off the beaten path, difficult to categorize, and totally delightful, just like the man himself. ~ Cub Koda
