Singer, songwriter, blues guitarist, and harmonica player Joe Louis Walker blends his West Coast, T-Bone Walker-like guitar playing with post-Jimi Hendrix rock touches, and he's tackled every form of blues imaginable throughout his career, from R&B jump blues to poignant acoustic sets, and just like the old-school bluesmen, he's also worked with a lot of labels. Walker has recorded albums for Polygram, JSP, HighTone, Provogue, and Alligator Records over the years, including three albums for Stony Plain released between 2008 and 2010. Some of the best tracks from those three albums, most of them produced by Duke Robillard, are collected in this Stony Plain sampler. ~ Steve Leggett
