Bitter Harvest

In this sweeping historical drama set in 1930s Ukraine, young lovers Yuri and Natalka struggle to survive a widespread famine known as the Holodomor, which was engineered by the Soviet Union in order to crush Ukrainian nationalism. In time, Yuri's horror over the scale of the tragedy inspires him to fight for Ukraine's independence.
