Nashville-based singer/songwriter Ben Rector has been slowly building his fan base since launching his career while still a student at the University of Arkansas in the mid-2000s. Rector's sixth studio album, 2015's Brand New, finds him building upon this goodwill with a set of songs that retain all the passion and optimism of those early releases. His second album since founding his own Aptly Named Recordings, Brand New follows up the exuberant concert album Live in Denver. As with past Rector albums, Brand New showcases the Oklahoma native's love of melodic, soulful acoustic pop and folk.
