The Bring It On Collector's Edition DVD has a lot to cheer about. The feature-packed disc boasts a perfect widescreen anamorphic (aspect ratio of 1.85:1) transfer highlighted by an amazing range of reds. Sound options include a choice of English Dolby Digital 5.1 and a DTS track, a French Dolby 5.1 track, and English captioning for the hearing impaired. The disc's special features are also terrific, beginning with a great commentary track by director Peyton Reed, who discusses his reasons for making the film and his methods for working around obvious teen movie cliches. The film can also be viewed with an optional "Did You Know That? Universal's Animated Anecdotes" feature in which informative text commentaries appear on screen. Another extra is "Spotlight on Location: The Making of Bring It On," a surprisingly informative 13-minute featurette with cast interviews and some behind-the-scenes footage. Also included are ten deleted scenes, two extended scenes, and a three-minute "Never-Before-Seen Home Movie of the Car Wash Scene," all introduced on camera by the director. Rounding out the package are a 40-second "Wardrobe and Makeup Test" consisting of stars Kirsten Dunst and Eliza Dushku prancing around in outfits from the film and a music video by R&B group (and cast members) Blaque, plus the usual theatrical trailer, production notes, cast and filmmakers info, and DVD-ROM features. The final feature is an "Easter Egg" hidden in the "Language" submenu which can be accessed by pressing the megaphone by the picture of Dunst.
