Catastrophic Event Specialists

Catastrophic Event Specialists is the third Strange Music full-length by Kansas City underground hip-hop duo Ces Cru. The ambitious three-act, 18-track (20 on the deluxe edition) album is the most politically motivated, socially conscious Ces Cru release to date, with lyrics commenting on police brutality and the general condition of social unrest. Musically, it continues the Cru's blend of golden age breakbeats and scratching with elements of more up-to-date styles such as trap. The album features cameos from Tech N9ne, Murs, Krizz Kaliko, and others. The album debuted at number 150 on the Billboard 200 album chart after its February 2017 release. ~ Paul Simpson
