Chevals

Formed from the ashes of teen punk outfit Zero de Conduite, French rock six-piece Blankass return after a seven-year absence with their fifth studio album, Les Chevals. Produced by Mark Plati (Alain Bashung, Charlie Winston), their first release since leaving Warner for indie label At (H)ome sees the Ledoux brothers pursue a Depeche Mode-esque electro-rock direction on ten nostalgic tracks including lead single "Rendez-Vous," the English-sung "King of the World," and the Winston Churchill-sampling closer "Exil." ~ Jon O'Brien
