Similar to the preceding volume, Chill Out Lounge, Vol. 2 features a number of laid-back electronica tracks compiled onto one disc by mostly unknown producers. The styles waver from dubby trip-hop and jazzy drum'n'bass to sleepy ambient and groovy house, with a little bit of everything in between. The variety of styles is refreshing and helps keep the disc interesting. The "chill out" vibe does get a bit lackluster after continuous listening. Often, listening to this disc from beginning to end can be a chore. Some of the featured producers include Baby Mammoth, Espen Horne, Naoki Kenji, Mo' Horizons, and At Home Project, among others. The album-opening track by LTJ Bukem, "Journey Inwards," definitely stands out, being the album's big selling point. A great way to start things off. ~ Jason Birchmeier
